We can tear the facestock:
1. If samples can be easily torn, this is paper label, paper label includs semi-gloss label, thermal label, maplitho label and casted label.
2.If samples cann't be torn, this is plastic film label, plastic label includs PE label, PP label, PVC label and PET label
3. If we tear sample and find the upper layer of film cannot be torn, but the lower layer can be torn, usually this is film coated semi-gloss label. Hope following pictures can help you understand better.
