Adhesive label materials store condition and time

For many occasions, the adhesive label materials curl up, have poor stickiness, and label missing during die-cutting process are because of our improper storage environment or storage for too long time.

Adhesive label material storage warranty period: refers to the period from the time the adhesive label material leaves the factory to the time the material is used. Most adhesive label materials warranty period is one year. The warranty period of special self-adhesive label materials pls check TDS. During this time, the storage conditions are suitable and the manufacturer promises that the material performance is good and stable.

In order to maintain adhesive label material good and stable performance, appropriate storage conditions are necessary. Generally speaking, we require that the label materials cannot be exposed to the sunlight and need to be stored in a dark and cool place,control temperature at 22℃±2℃, and relative humidity at 50%. If the storage conditions are not suitable, the storage time will be greatly shortened and various problems will occur in the later printing, die-cutting and labeling processes. The following are common problems caused by poor storage environment:

1. High temperature and dry storage environment: High temperature will increase the glue fluidity and easily cause the glue overflow at the edge. The viscosity of the glue is reduced. In dry environment, paper label materials will curl due to water loss.

2. The storage environment is too humid: the paper absorbs water and expands, it will curl, sometimes it also have problem that the edge is uneven as the edge of a lotus leaf.

3. The storage environment temperature is too low: Low temperature will affect the performance of glue, causing flying labels during the die-cutting process, and the label stickiness will be greatly reduced.

If we cannot achieve the ideal storage conditions mentioned above, we should at least do following things:

1. The adhesive label materials should be stored in a dry place and don't expose to sunlight. The temperature should not be higher than 25℃. When using, we should use the materials first that are bought first.

2. The materials should be stacked upright to avoid being deformed by pressure and affecting printing efficiency.

3. If we break the outer packaging, try to use them up at one time. If you really can't use them up at one time, you should pack them again and use them soon.

4. When storing materials in winter, we’d better place label materials in condition of 23℃ for 24 hours before use.

5.Use adhesive label material within the warranty period.
